The Boring Bits
(Also known as our Terms and Conditions)
The basics
These terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply to all services provided by Williams Signature Limited (Companies House Number 16329291) (“us”), (“we”), (“our”) who is trading as William’s Signature. Any contracts or liabilities formed is with us and no employees, Directors, associates or sub-contractors of it.
By engaging our services, you (“the customer”) agree to these Terms.
Scope of work
We offer plumbing, tiling and bathroom fitting services, including but not limited to:
General plumbing repairs and installations
Wall and floor tiling
Complete and partial bathroom fitting
Any services not explicitly stated in the quotation are excluded unless agreed upon in writing.
Quotes and Pricing
Quotations are valid for 30 days.
Quotes are given to include all labour and materials to complete the given work. Any excluded labour and materials will be detailed in the quotation. We can only complete work that is reasonable in order to complete the work on the quotation.
At this moment in time, Williams Signature Limited is not VAT registered. Should we become VAT registered, all prices quoted will include the VAT and no additional payments will be required.
As standard, waste removal off site is not included.
Deposits, Payments and Cancelations
For all small jobs that are completed within a day, payment is due on completion of the work.
For all other work, 10% deposit is required to book a date for the work to be completed. This 10% deposit is non-refundable should you cancel or rearrange for another date.
All final payments need to be paid once the work is completed.
If a further deposit is required, before completion of work (usually for large projects or bathroom remodels) then this will be detailed in the quotation. Should you cancel or rearrange, then the amount refundable to you would be the total amount paid to us, less the 10% initial deposit and less the cost incurred by us. Costs incurred is usually for, but not limited to, materials purchased that we can not get refunded after you cancel the work.
Overdue payments will incur interest at 4% per annum, pro rata, above the Bank of England base rate.
Customer Responsibilities
In order to complete our work, we will require access to running water, electricity and sometimes an outdoor working area. Employees of us will need free access to the property and garden whilst work is being completed. For employee welfare, access to a toilet (if available) may also be required.
We also require you to clear the area of work. This means we can work freely in the area and prevents any dust or debris on your personal items.
Changes and Additional Work
We will only provide materials and labour that is reasonable to complete the work in the quotation.
For example, if we provide you a quote to repair your tap, any components needed to fix the tap will be included. However, if the whole tap needs replacing, then this would not be included in the price. In these sort of circumstances, the customer will be asked to confirm the price of the tap and no extra charge for labour.
Another example would be if we were to quote for a full bathroom, this would include any additional work to the pipe work within the bathroom area, plastering or flooring. However, if we discover that the electrics are unsafe in your house or the joists are rotten and need replacing, then we will not be able to complete these works within the quotation price as these would not be reasonable. Either a further quotation can be provided for the additional work or this work would have to be completed separately to the work we complete.
Completion Times and Delays
For any small jobs that we complete that would usually take less than a day, we will complete the work as quickly as possible. Sometimes there are delays for parts, but payment is not due until completion of the work.
For larger projects, a time scale will be provided on the quotation. This is only an estimate and some projects can take longer than expected due to circumstances out of our control. You understand that we will not be liable for any delays past the estimated completion date.
Warranty and Liability
We provide a warranty for 12 months from the date of completion. This is workmanship warranty. Any products that we provide are also covered under a 12 month warranty. We do not provide a warranty for products that you provide, as we can not ensure the quality.
Of course, if you have any issues with the services or products we have provided, please contact us, even if it is after 12 months and we will usually fix any issues free of charge. However, legally, this is at our own discretion.
We are also not liable for any pre-existing issues at your property. We will try to identify any pre-existing issues, notify you of them and fix them, but we are not liable for them in any way.
This warranty does not cover defects arising from misuse or neglect of any materials or materials supplied by the customer.
Our liability is limited to the value of the services provided and does not extend to consequential losses.
Health and Safety
We commit to keeping the area we work in your home as safe as possible. You should be warry of places that we work and be aware of flooring being removed, hot gas torches may be used, tripping hazards may be present, dust may be in the air and surfaces may become dusty or wet, which will be slippery. Before entering the area that we are working, you should ask the representative of us where is safe and what safety issues you should be aware of.
It is your responsibility to provide a safe working environment for our employees and representatives. You must inform us of any known hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
